Intake
Every item consigned to Luxest is received in-house, logged against the consignor, and assigned a preliminary lot number. Nothing is listed on trust — no exceptions, no third-party drop-shipping, no direct-to-buyer forwarding.

The review
Each piece is examined against a multi-point checklist appropriate to its category. The exact points differ between a leather bag, a tailored jacket, a knit, or a pair of shoes, but the review always covers:
- ConstructionStitching cadence, seam alignment, lining, interior structure, and hardware fit against the maison's known specifications for the era.
- MaterialsLeather grain and weight, textile hand, hardware alloy and plating, zipper pulls, buttons, and thread quality.
- MarkingsSerial numbers, date codes, heat stamps, made-in labels, care labels, and any production-run indicators against the reference archive for that model and year.
- Wear patternThe way a piece has aged — patina, creasing, sole wear, hardware oxidation — read against how genuine wear on that model should present.

Result
A piece either passes and is admitted to the archive with a Luxest lot number and a published grade (A through D), or it is returned to the consignor. Pieces we cannot confidently authenticate are never listed, regardless of the story behind them.
